Coronavirus Testing Can Help End The Pandemic
Coronavirus test criteria and availability are changing daily. Check your state guidelines and call the coronavirus testing site before you go to learn about testing criteria, availability, and hours.
National holidays may impact hours. Please call to confirm.
- If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath, please contact your healthcare provider or telehealth program to discuss whether you should be evaluated for testing.
- Each coronavirus test provider will determine if testing is appropriate based on your symptoms, risk factors, and test availability.
- UPDATE: Due to an increase in demand, there may be longer than usual wait times for testing and results in certain areas.
Not everyone needs to be tested for COVID-19.
Here is some information that might help you make a decision about seeking care or testing:
Who needs to be tested? Who needs a coronavirus test?
Most people have mild illness, are able to recover at home, and do not need testing. Learn more about COVID-19.
There is no treatment specifically approved for this virus so the answer from a test would not necessarily guide how you would care for your symptoms.
Testing results may be helpful to inform your decisions about whom you come in contact with.
How much does it cost to get tested? How much does COVID-19 testing cost?
Congress recently passed the Families First Relief Act that made testing for the coronavirus free.
Most major health insurers agreed to waive co-pays and other out-of-pocket costs for coronavirus tests.
Whether costs associated with seeing a doctor for COVID-19 will be covered is not yet clear.
